Debut album by New Jersey's The Assistant.
Here is Robotic Empire distro's old mid-2000's description of the album:
"Their extremely hard to find first album. More of a political statement than a band. More about the idea than the music. The Assistant throw down some of the heaviest, most chaotic...metallic emo? That's the only way to even remotely describe it. Former You and I members, pre-This Ship Will Sink, and all around an infamous and influential screamo/hardcore hybrid band."
Here is Milligram Records' old 2000 bio of the band:
"The Assistant is a five piece band from Plainfield/Highland Park NJ. Members of The Assistant have been derived from such bands as Linus, Bound, You and I, and Everett. I'm not exactly sure how to describe the music that we play except that it is loud.
Lyrically we focus on both personal and political issues. We enjoy to address issues that affect our lives, society, and the punk/hardcore scene itself (as childish as it may be at times). Some topics we've addressed in the past include police brutality, ecomomic slavery, public school education, gender roles, sexual abuse, and general social acceptance."
